Startup InspirAItion Day
The ELLIS Unit Graz co-organized the StartUp InspirAItion Day at Graz University of Technology on May 21, 2026. It was a morning full of honest entrepreneurial stories, practical insights, and inspiring conversations to spark the option of an AI entrepreneurship career path in our junior researchers. A huge thank you to Ralph Stöckl (SimplyAI FlexCo), Samuel Ziegler (vetosec), Lucija Veličan Marković, PhD (Ruth), and Dr. Michael Reip (openmaind) for sharing their experiences so openly and authentically and to Mario Fallast and Harald Jenull for guiding the discussion and enriching it with their own entrepreneurial wisdom.
2 Workshops at AIROV2026
The ELLIS Unit Graz co-organized two workshops at the Austrian Symposium on AI, Robotics and Vision (AIROV), April 13–15, 2026 in Leoben. One of our workshops was on Current Trends and Future Potential: Spiking Neural Networks and the second one on Physics-Informed Machine Learning and Hybrid Modelling.
Seminar: Tensor Factorizations Meet Probabilistic Circuits
The ELLIS Unit Graz co-organized the Dagstuhl Seminar 26102 entitled “Tensor Factorizations Meet Probabilistic Circuits”, which took place from March 01-06, 2026 at Schloss Dagstuhl in Wadern.
Workshop on Energy-Efficient AI: Models, Algorithms, and Hardware for Sustainable Intelligence
Together with the ELLIS Unit Nijmegen, we hosted a highly engaging workshop at the ELLIS UnConference kicking-off EurIPS 2025 on December 2, 2025 in Copenhagen. We heard about high-level research in this emerging field, discussed innovations that pave the way for efficient AI systems, and thought about how ELLIS can contribute to creating a sustainable European AI ecosystem.
